Our latest edition provides an update on our third phase of public consultation.

Consultation now open

We're pleased to announce that our third phase of consultation for the proposed reservoir in Lincolnshire is now open.

Our consultation will run for eight weeks, until 16 December, and provides an opportunity for local communities to have their say and help shape the future development of the project.

The new reservoir and its connecting infrastructure are a major investment that will secure water supplies for Lincolnshire and the wider region for future generations.

We are committed to developing the project in a way that delivers lasting benefits, creating a place where water, people and nature can come together and thrive. When complete, the reservoir would provide enough water for up to half a million homes while also creating significant social, economic, and environmental opportunities.

Our latest proposals are now available on our project website, including a consultation brochure, an interactive map and our feedback form. There are also new images, films and animations providing more information about what visiting the reservoir could be like.

What our consultation includes

• How we plan to fill the reservoir, including a new transfer option from the River Witham and updates to our plans to draw water from the River Trent  
• The power supply options for the reservoir, including a proposed location for ground-mounted solar and information on connecting the reservoir to the local electricity network 
• Route corridor options for diverting the existing 132 kV overhead electricity line currently crossing the reservoir site
• Our plans for re-routing the Helpringham to Scredington Road, and our proposed primary access for construction and visitors to the reservoir
• Our updated plans for supplying treated water to customers, including updates to pipeline routes and connection points near Wilsthorpe and Chesterton
• Our emerging thinking on construction, including road and rail options for moving materials and how we could manage the workforce we need.

Feedback from this phase of consultation will help inform key decisions and shape the next stage of the project's design.

Our consultation events

We are holding a series of community events where you can meet the project team, ask questions and find out more about our proposals.

Visitors will also be able to view a 3D model of the reservoir embankment and experience virtual reality views, helping them better understand how the reservoir could look within the surrounding landscape.
